Highlander Tremolo

The Hohner Highlander Tremolo is a unique edition of the classic model 55/80 Echo Harp, a double-sided tremolo harmonica featuring 20 notes and 40 reeds on each side, tuned a perfect fifth apart. Crafted to the specifications of Scottish harmonica maestro Donald Black, this version is tuned in the keys of A and D. While the D side remains unchanged, the A side has been specially modified by retuning two pairs of reeds, changing the G# notes to G natural. This adjustment transforms the A major scale into the mixolydian mode rooted on A, making the Highlander ideal for playing Highland pipe tunes that require a flatted seventh note.
